Breakout Activity One: #ViableVisibleVoices – Networks

(10-minutes)

  1. The person born earliest in the year will be the leader.

2. The leader will decide on a speaker who will feedback to the whole group, when we return to the Main Room.

3. If you prefer not to be the speaker, please select another member of the team.

4. Please make sure that all voices are heard


Your leader will guide the team through these questions:


Viable
What is your potential to grow or function effectively and efficiently?


Visible

Do people know you exist?
How are you seen by the organisation?
Do you have a seat at the table?


Voices

Do you work intersectionally to deliver change?

Do you collaborate with others to amplify a community of blended voices to deliver progressive change?


Breakout Activity Two: What does it mean to be a Network Chair? (5-minutes)


  1. The person who was born latest in the year will be the leader.

2. The leader will decide on a speaker who will feedback to the whole group, when we return to the Main Room.

3. Please make sure that all voices are heard.


Your leader will guide you through each of the following questions:


• What makes a good leader?

• Do you know any good leaders and, if so, what do they do differently?

• What is key to becoming a successful Network Chair?


Breakout Activity Three: #ViableVisibleVoices – Organisation

(10-minutes)


Instructions


  1. The leader for this discussion will be the person whose first name is first alphabetically.

2. Facilitate an open discussion on the questions below.

3. The leader will decide on a speaker who will feedback to the whole group, when we return to the Main Room.

4. If you prefer not to be the speaker, please select another member of the team.


Your leader will guide the team through these questions:


Viable
Has the organisation created the right environment for the network to be successful?


Visible

Is the network constantly or frequently in the line of sight of Senior Leaders?

What opportunities do they offer for your network to be visible?


Voices

Does your network feel heard? Can you recall specific examples of when your network has had an impact?


Breakout Activity Four: Network Action Plan (10-minutes)


Instructions


1.Your leader for this activity will be the person whose first name is last alphabetically.

2.Your leader will select a speaker for the team.


Make sure that all voices are heard - consciously include all members of the team!


Discuss:

· What is the plan for your Network?

· Come up with a starter for ten Action Plan - your key next steps



Consider:

  1. Where is the Network working well?

2.  What do we need to do differently or better?

3.  How can we involve and engage Network members and colleagues?

4.  How can we best collaborate with stakeholders such as Comms & Marketing, Sponsors or allies to help roll out our Plan?
