Developing a Disability Confident Culture

You will work in your Departmental Teams to carry out planning for the coming Academic Year, 

Based upon the content covered today and the Whole School Diversity and Inclusion Agenda, consider what the particular priorities are for you personally, for your team and for the school.

Each team should select a scribe to record the main points covered during this Planning Session. These notes will be collected, collated and used to inform next steps.

Teaching Staff should consider SEND learners who will be joining their lessons and, using the information held by your SENCO, discuss and plan strategies which will maximise the support that can be provided.

Non-teaching staff should explore the processes, policies and general day-to-day activities within their department to ensure accessibility and to mitigate potential Indirect Discrimination.

Consider these questions:
What information might you need to source? 
What research can be done? 
What changes could be made to your environment?
Which resources could be easily adapted? 
What can be done immediately?
Who can support you?

We will share some of your creative ideas when we return in an hour but please remember to select a scribe to record the main points covered during this Planning Session.
